As part of our Creative Partnerships project Sidmouth Primary School have been working with film maker and photographer Jon Robson to produce a book about Newland Avenue and their local community.

The project aimed to raise literacy levels by improving speaking and listening skills within the year 2 class. A high percentage of the pupils had English as a second language and the school wanted to use the project to address the needs of the pupils. Parents were invited into school during the project and the class interviewed them about where they were from, their culture & heritage and how some  things were very different and some things were the same as life in the UK.
