School – Eastrington Primary School
Brief – Engage keystage 2 pupils and the local community to produce a photography book
At Eastrington Primary School we have just completed a ten week creative project working alongside filmmaker & photographer Jon Robson.
Our aim was to harness the power of digital media to capture a snapshot of our village and the surrounding community during Spring 2010.
As a result of our creative journey we feel much more confident in using digital media & ICT as tools to help us explore new topics.
We feel much more aware of our environment and how we look at things differently through the lens of a camera.
As part of the project we joined with pupils from Barmby on the Marsh Primary school on a school visit to the Bradford National Media Museum.
This is our ‘Journey Through A Lens’
What we have enjoyed.
“I have enjoyed using cameras and learning how to use new software.
I loved the freedom of going around the village during school hours. It is not something we would usually do.” – Tom
“I thought the project was brilliant because we learnt new skills and got to know our village much better.” – Lauren
“I feel like I have learnt so much in such a short time.” – Jacob
“I have discovered there is much more to photography than I imagined and much more to explore in the world.” – Jack
