About Us
About cafesociety.org
Established in 1997, Cafesociety.org is a collaborative group of creative individuals around the world working in the fields of media and education.
The main focus of our work in schools and communities is the development of active citizenship and self-expression through training in media skills and literacy.
We think digital filmmaking is a magical tool to enhance both learning and teaching. Our school programmes are designed to complement the national curriculum and to offer real tangible learning outcomes that aim to inspire and motivate pupils and teachers.
We believe that by learning about the cultures and people of the world we can come to a greater understanding of ourselves. Our hope is that we can provide the spark and skills for the people we work with to use their voices and improve the world.
Cafesociety.org have developed projects not only in the UK but in countries as diverse as Ethiopia, the Navajo reservations in the US, the Seychelles and most recently in Sierra Leone.
